The latest edition of the Journal of Antique Dealers & Art Galleries, produced by the SNA in partnership with Le Journal des Arts, returns with exclusive insights into the latest developments in the art market.
The summer break has obviously not made the art market context any clearer, as it remains heavily affected by geopolitical uncertainties. Added to this is the implementation of new regulations, particularly European ones, whose laudable aim is to protect the art market from the trafficking of illicit goods, but which lead to more complex procedures and, ultimately, to the depletion of intra-EU collections.
One could lament, worry, or become discouraged... But, as we return to work and school, a completely different dynamic is emerging. Attentive to buyers as well as a wider public of enthusiasts and curious onlookers, art dealers are adapting and innovating. Far from the conservatism they are sometimes accused of, they are adjusting to the present time. As proof, I cite several promising new initiatives, such as the alignment of FAB Paris's dates with those of the most prestigious Biennales des Antiquaires, a new exhibition space on the Place de la Concorde chosen by Moderne Art Fair to expand the reach of this specialized fair, and the innovative first edition of a new fair called "Sur Invitation."
Other equally compelling examples include the successful revitalization of the Carré Rive Gauche and the dynamism of the Matignon Saint-Honoré gallery association. These initiatives allow for themed events, improved communication, and the acquisition of new audiences.
In this context, the Syndicat des Négociants en Art (SNA) stands alongside its growing membership. Through its recognized advisory role, it encourages dealers to organize themselves and provides support. The SNA, through this journal, facilitates the sharing of information and analysis on evolving regulations and market trends. It is a sounding board for all cultural initiatives that we invite you to discover by pushing open the doors of the galleries or by going to the fairs to discover your next artistic crush.

The Syndicat des Négociants en Art brings together, represents, and supports art market professionals, both in France and internationally.
