This new issue highlights the major spring art fairs in Paris and Brussels while examining the latest developments in the art market.
Is the art market entering a sustainable recovery?
In partnership with Le Journal des Arts, the SNA explores the key trends of Spring 2026, from a still-fragile recovery and evolving professional practices to the season's leading international art fairs.
Market analysis, legal insights, highlights from major art fairs, and the latest industry news...
An essential issue designed to support antique dealers and gallery owners as they navigate a rapidly evolving art market.
My roots are in Brittany, I love the sea, and I was taught from a very young age that when your boat encounters a storm, you either hold on to the helm or abandon ship by jumping overboard.
This boat on a raging sea is the situation facing art market professionals today, and galleries in particular. As the benchmark annual study conducted by UBS and Art Basel for 2025 shows, they are facing strong headwinds. They are buffeted by geopolitical, economic, and almost sociological crises, with a significant and difficult-to-grasp renewal of collector profiles.
The strength and cohesion of a crew allow us to weather the storms; this is the philosophy of our union.
We stood up to defend the interests of the profession when the threat of unfair taxation on works of art arose at the beginning of the year. Even now, when the crisis is quieter, but no less dangerous, we remain constantly vigilant and available to support our members.
But that's not all, because our union also believes in active solidarity by supporting initiatives that, while not originating from us, work for the greater good of the profession and the essential promotion of culture. This is why the SNA was heavily involved in the launch of FAM'Art, the new Federation of Art Market Professionals, launched in January 2026 at the Paris Chamber of Commerce.
It is also within this same "supra-union" movement that we support the Paris Gallery Weekend: three festive days to discover 73 galleries and 200 artists, from May 29 to 31.
We believe that solidarity is both a strength and a moral duty, at a time when our sectors are simultaneously resilient and innovative, yet fragile and threatened. We all stand to gain from it, and we will stay the course through these turbulent times.
