The French Taste
With the arrival of autumn, Alexis Bordes Gallery is pleased to present its new exhibition, The French Taste. Bringing together a selection of paintings spanning the 17th to the 20th century, the exhibition creates a dialogue between different artistic genres. From celebrated portraitists and their distinguished sitters to the refined tradition of still-life painting represented by Jacques-Samuel Bernard, one of the great painters of the Grand Siècle, the exhibition offers a rich exploration of French artistic taste. Landscape painting also takes center stage, ranging from the intimate views of Norman houses by Jacques-Émile Blanche to the sweeping seascapes of Charles François Lacroix de Marseille.
