BAILLY GALLERY
Modern, Postwar & Design
Charly and Hanna Bailly opened the Bailly Gallery in Geneva in 2007 and a second gallery in Paris in 2019. The international scope of the galleries offers access to an even wider network of experts and resources to aid collectors in the acquisition of new works for their fine art collection. The gallery also works with clients wishing to sell artworks.
The Bailly Gallery offers an international team of passionate, enthusiastic, and highly qualified experts in the fields of Impressionism art, Modern and Post War Art, as well as Design.
The Bailly Gallery is renowned for continuing the traditions of a historic profession as well as those of a family business. The family's first art gallery was opened at the 25 Quai Voltaire, across from the Louvre in 1977. Today, Charly and Hanna continue to work within the family and draw on their experience and expertise in the art world. The gallery also brings a new, dynamic and innovative touch designed to meet the needs of discerning collectors and art enthusiasts.
The Bailly Gallery is proud of its reputation among private collectors and art museums worldwide. In addition to providing its expertise and experience to those wishing to buy art, the Bailly Gallery also works with individuals looking to sell art from their collection. The gallery also works with museums worldwide, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Musée d'Orsay, Madrid's Musée Thyssen, and the Mitsubishi Ichigokan in Tokyo, by direct sales and by the loan of work from their collection for exhibition.
The Bailly Gallery draws upon our extensive research library in our advisory role to clients wishing to acquire or sell works of art. This unique library includes numerous catalogs raisonnée from all major art movements, over 40,000 books, and almost 700,000 archive photographs.
In addition to this impressive research source, the gallery accesses information from other prestigious databases to provide a unique and comprehensive analysis of the artwork along with research on the artist to our clients.
The Bailly Gallery's exhibits feature works by artists such as Henri Matisse, Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Ernst Kirchner, Marc Chagall, Auguste Rodin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and other masters of the artistic movements of the 19th and 20th century. The gallery also features frequent in-depth solo artist exhibitions as well as thematic exhibits that highlight the evolution of a particular artistic movement. All of the gallery's exhibits are curated in the hope of sharing our passion for this artwork with others and in line with the gallery's core principle of giving knowledge. Such exhibits have also made the gallery a cultural resource for the arts community.
In addition to the above activities, the Bailly Gallery is an active participant in such artistic projects as the publication of artist catalogs, museum loans, and prestigious international art fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht, BRAFA, artgenève, Design Miami/Basel, and Masterpiece London.
