AML/CFT: New Resources from the French Customs Authority
Over the past few months, the French Customs Authority has carried out extensive work to support professionals in implementing their obligations under anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT)regulations.
Recent publications by Customs:
1. Redesign of the AML/CFT web page
A new page centralizes all materials published by the service.
Professionals will find: news, guidelines, and risk analyses, links to practical pages from partner administrations,
an overview of Customs’ AML/CFT activities, best practices for setting up an effective compliance framework,
sector-specific pages tailored to different professions.

2. Publication of a client information sheet
At the request of professionals, Customs has issued a document to inform clients about: the obligations of professionals subject to AML/CFT regulations, the supporting documents that may be requested.

3. Record of high-risk jurisdictions (FATF & European Commission)
Customs provides the updated list of jurisdictions identified as high-risk for AML/CFT by the FATF and the European Commission, along with a historical archive of previous lists.
4. Feedback from the 2024 self-assessment campaign
Conducted between June and July 2024, this campaign brought together over 800 participants.
The report is available online.
5. Creation of a dedicated FAQ
An evolving “Frequently Asked Questions” section now addresses the most common inquiries regarding the regulations and their application. It is regularly updated with contributions from professional organizations and professionals themselves.
6. Publication of practical AML/CFT guides
Step-by-step resources to help professionals build their internal compliance framework:
