From 11/09/2019
to 17/09/2019
Galerie Delalande organised, between 11th and 17th of September 2019, an exhibition of marine painters from the Roux dynasty of Marseille in its gallery, displaying around thirty works by different members of the family.
In addition to the excellence of the works and their great decorative character, this exhibition has sought to contribute to the knowledge of the boats of the periods concerned in the most diverse aspects: cabotage, deep-sea trade, combat ships, manoeuvres, the beginnings of steam, historical scenes, privateers, etc...
The eye of the painter, the precision and accuracy of his observations are also elements to be considered as fundamental to allow us to better understand the traditional art of using sails for sailing.
