Giovanni Sarti presents, in the elegant premises of an “hotel particulier” in Paris, at 137 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré 14th to 18th century Italian paintings, with some important furniture and objects. The speciality of the gallery – Early Italian paintings – is illustrated every other year by an exhibition with an accompanying bilingual (French / English) scholarly catalogue. Among the exhibitions held there one can cite "18th century views of Venice and “capricci” (1725-1835)" in 2000, "The 17th Century" in 2003 and "Sumptuous hardstone and marble pieces" (2006), another passion which gets back to the beginnings of the gallery in 1976. In 2013 an important exhibition was dedicated to the Italian Caravaggesque painters. /We also publish reference books on some artists like Bramantino (Milan, 1465-1530) in 2005 and Agostino Melissi (Florence, 1616 ? - 1683) in 2010. Giovanni Sarti participates in the TEFAF (Maastricht), Frieze Master (London), the Biennale des Antiquaires (Paris) and Paris-Tableau. Member of the “Syndicat National des Antiquaires” (S.N.A.) and the “Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés” (C.N.E.S.).
